Draw a freehand flyover shelf


  1. On the Shape tab, in the Tools group, select the Freehand flyover shelf piece option.

  2. Choose the Catalogue where the freehand flyover shelf originates from.
  3. Choose the required flyover shelf.
  4. Click where you would like the first corner of your freehand flyover shelf to be.
  5. Continue to click at the positions for each corner.
  6. Complete the flyover shelf by clicking on the first corner.

NOTE Individual dimensions for the freehand flyover shelf can be specified within the Information group. If you make a mistake while creating the flyover shelf, press the delete key on the keyboard. This will delete the last point added.

  1. On the Joint tab, in the Tools group, select the Auto joint Flyover shelves option.

Apply a corner joint to a flyover shelf


  1. On the Joint tab, in the Tools group, select the Apply corner joint to flyover shelf option.

  2. Click one of the red handles displayed to select the joint you wish to apply.
  3. Click one of the white handles displayed to select the exact placement of the joint required.
  4. Select the Apply option.

During the jointing process, Fusion FX displays each flyover shelf in various colours indicating whether the flyover shelf can be manufactured based on its size:

  • Red: The flyover shelf is too large and needs be resized or cut.
  • Green: The flyover shelf is within its size limits.
  • Blue: The flyover shelf is within its size limits but not recommended as optimum joint.

NOTE If any flyover shelves are too large to be manufactured (as denoted by being drawn in red) you will not be able to select Next Stage.
